We do accept lay-aways/lay-bys - please contact us if you would like to place a deposit for an item and make regular payments over a longer period. Our standard lay-away period is 2 months, with a minimum deposit of 20%.
All parcels sent by PTE Direct are insured against loss, theft, or damage during delivery and will also require a signature upon delivery to ensure you receive it promptly. Highly valuable items being delivered overseas are sent via EMS International Couriers or a courier service. This is a premium service, which offers extremely fast delivery. It is also a traceable service so your parcel can be tracked. Items of lesser value are shipped overseas via standard insured Air Mail and are not traceable. These items are still fully covered by insurance, require a signature on delivery, and are given a unique registration number. Items being sent within Canada are shipped via registered post, and are also fully insured during delivery. Please note: If you are placing an order over the Christmas period, please get your orders in early as delivery times tend to be delayed during the busy season.
Authenticity of Opals All PTEDirect opals come with a Proof of Authenticity upon purchase (if requested). This certificate will provide you with all its specific information pertaining to your stone and or setting. The information will include but not be limited to: origin of the stone(s), carat weight, type of opal, colours, and measurements, and estimated valuation worth for insurance purposes.

It is rare for countries to apply import taxes, however, it is still possible that customers may be liable to pay import taxes imposed by their government upon arrival of their goods. This differs from country to country and PTE-Direct has no control over which taxes that may be charged. In the case of a refund, the customer must bear all costs associated with import taxes. Customers concerned with their country's import tax policies should research the amount/process prior to making a purchase. To customers in Canada, a 6% GST charge will be applied to your purchase price.
Customers are offered a 30-day money back guarantee on all purchases from PTE - Direct. The 30 - day period commences upon the receipt of your item. If you wish to return the item you must notify PTE-Direct of your intentions to return the product before this period ends. The customer will bear the cost of freight for the return, and goods must be received undamaged and in original condition before a refund will be issued. All transactions including refunds are processed in Canadian Dollars; therefore refunds may vary according to exchange rate fluctuation during the 30-day period and are out of PTE- Directs control.
